New Rider Signed for GBmoto

Following discussions with a number of riders, GBmoto is very happy to announce that RICHARD NORRIS is to take up the second berth for the team, on a full time basis in 2007.

In what is a ‘return’ to the team for Richard, a very successful partnership is reformed. Having ridden for GBmoto over five years in the UK Endurance championship, he has contributed significantly to the teams many wins, pole positions, fastest laps and the 2004 UK Endurance Championship.

On agreeing the deal, he said “I am looking forward to next year with GBmoto as I have a great understanding with the team and the people. We have always competed seriously and competitively, but at the same time really enjoyed what we are doing. That is something that has been missing in my solo racing for a few seasons now.”

Richard has had much in the way of success in his solo racing over the last few years and in the process has continued his impressive career, by finishing as the 2005 Supersport Superclub Champion and the 2006 Pro-bike Superclub Champion. Having previously won the top accolade in the MRO Powerbike and ‘Champion of Brands’ series, the Reading based racer is looking to keep up his winning ways next year.

Team Manager, Barry Watts is sure the team can be front runners whatever the competition in 2007: “With a new championship in place next year and a fresh new format, you can bet that the level of competition will be up and not down. However as we put a solid team of riders together the pressure moves away from GBmoto to the other teams. Everybody else seems to need GBmoto to have bad luck or problems to win and we have had more than our fair share of that over the last two seasons. However, this year will be different and hopefully now we can fulfil our potential at each and every round. We would like to feel that we are working harder than anybody else right now to get it absolutely right.”
